About
Peter graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Media Arts and a minor in Computer Science. After freelancing in video production and software development for several years, Peter is now a Research Assistant, Center for Future Storytelling fellow, and doctoral candidate in the Media Arts and Sciences program at the MIT Media Lab. There, he explores the nexus of music, interface, interaction design, cognition, storytelling, and theater. His current research interests include translating expressive representations across modalities using grounded abstractions and, in doing so, creating systems for interactive media, arts, and performance. As part of this work, Peter has developed the Disembodied Performance System for Tod Machover’s new opera Death and the Powers.
